Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services and confirm WiFiBuddy is enabled. Return to the app and refresh the scan. See Permissions and Privacy.

No Wi-Fi interface appears

Confirm Wi-Fi is enabled and the Mac has an available Wi-Fi interface. If you use an external adapter, reconnect it and allow macOS to finish detecting the interface before refreshing.

The list changes between scans

Nearby access points can change channels, stop broadcasting, or move below the receive threshold. WiFiBuddy preserves useful recent observations during brief scan interruptions, but the environment is inherently dynamic.

A scan times out

CoreWLAN scan operations can occasionally stall while the interface reassociates. WiFiBuddy limits each scan attempt and retries automatically. Wait for the next pass before restarting the app.

Stability Test shows packet loss

Some devices intentionally rate-limit or ignore probes. Compare a router target with a second known target before concluding that Wi-Fi packets are being lost.
